Tag : The Coffee Book Tag

Friday, 24 June 2016

Hello Guys and Gals,

Now I'm not a big coffee drinker (and I don't think I really will ever be), however once you get bombarded with a ton of exams and start working for a million hours a week - coffee becomes your friend! Anyway, this book tag surrounds the idea of the wonderful drink that is coffee, basically it is inspired by coffee and drink related things!
It also feels like I haven't done a tag in forever (when really I only did one last month) however then I got tagged to do this Tag - coffee + books = yes please, thank you!
However before we begin we need to hold on a nanosecond and get a few things out of the way: a) I'm not actually a big coffee or tea drinker (please don't hurt me), b) I haven't drunk tea or coffee in ages but still LIKE it, c) even after all of that I would still choose a Cadbury's hot chocolate over anything!
We good? Good.
Let's get going...

1. BLACK: NAME A BOOK THAT WAS HARD TO GET INTO BUT HAS A LOT OF HARDCORE FANS

Twilight - Stephenie Meyer
Okay so to even attempt this series - you have to be committed! Nobody goes into this series half-hearetedly - you just don't!
I got around half-way through the first book and found it freakishly boring, left it for a year, came back and finished off the series. Even though Twilight gets a lot of bad reviews, the books aren't actually that bad (I think the films are the ones with the bad reviews) - but do take a LONG time to get into them!!!

2. PEPPERMINT MOCHA - NAME A BOOK THAT GETS POPULAR AROUND WINTER OR THE FESTIVE TIME OF YEAR

Let It Snow - John Green
Did I ever mention I'm like the Queen of Christmas? Apart from maybe summer (I mean we get a huge long holiday from school people!) Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year, but I don't really read a lot of christmassy books, but this is definitely one that you can ONLY read around Christmas time! It's a really good book that (especially last year) seemed to fly off the shelves around winter!

3. HOT CHOCOLATE - NAME YOUR FAVOURITE CHILDREN'S BOOK

Winnie the pooh - A A Milne
I would exist solely on hot chocolate if I could. Hot chocolate and pancakes.
This is just a legendary book. I honestly grew up with it and just find all of the stories incredible!
Who doesn't love Winnie and the rest of the gang?

4. DOUBLE SHOT OF ESPRESSO - NAME A BOOK THAT KEPT YOU ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT FROM START TO FINISH

The Mortal Instruments - Cassandra Clare
Welcome, ladies and gentleman, to the sweet sweet torture of the Mortal Instruments. The amount of stress, tears and pain this book series caused me was phenomenal. Actually ridiculous.
I hate the pain! Yet I love these books!
Somebody help me.
Actually - don't!

5. STARBUCKS - NAME A BOOK YOU SEE EVERYWHERE

Harry Potter (series) - J K Rowling
Don't get me wrong - I love these books, but I literally see them everywhere! Bloggers always post about it on social media and I've read endless blog-posts and watched endless reveiws about these books! Every book shop I go into I always see one of these books! I literally think everyone in the history of the planet has heard of these books - who can blame them? They are great books!

6. THAT HIPSTER COFFEE SHOP - NAME A BOOK BY AN INDIE AUTHOR

Matched - Ally Condie
I know these books aren't really 'Indie' - but they NEED a bigger fan-base, they NEED more people to read these books and become a fan-base! Please people! These books are brilliant and are written by a brilliant author but don't have the fan-base they deserve!

7. DECAF - NAME A BOOK YOU WERE EXPECTING MORE FROM

The Fault In Our Stars - John Green
Decaf? Pffffft, it's a like a hot chocolate that isn't hot or chocolate and somebody stole my marshmallows. The Fault In Our Stars is an amazing book (don't get me wrong) and it is beautifully written, but I think it could have just been that little bit more gripping, the little bit more exciting - it was really sad and upsetting and was beautiful, but something was missing! I kind of feel like John's books are a little bit repetitive and maybe slightly predictable. The romance came out of nowhere and the kiss in the Anne Franks house was a little inappropriate! The story itself was a little bit wrong and the two teenagers went to see the author on there own - in private! Not safe people!

8. THE PERFECT BLEND - NAME A BOOK SERIES THAT WAS BOTH BITTER AND SWEET BUT ULTIMATELY SATISFYING

The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins
I'm really only unsatisfied because it ended! Oh? And do you know that little thing that happened with one of my favourite characters in the book (PRIM???????) Can somebody please get a tissue? Or better still, a bucket and mop? But seriously, this book is the perfect blend, I mean there's friendship, love, romance, loss, hope, fear, Snow, action, adventure, death - oh and of course Haymitch.

9. GREEN TEA - NAME A BOOK THAT IS QUIETLY BEAUTIFUL

I'll Give You The Sun - Jandy Nelson
I think more people have heard of this book than I think - so maybe I shouldn't have chosen it for this category - nah who cares? This book is so stupidly moving I can't even deal with it. READ WITH CAUTION!!!

10. CHAI TEA - NAME A BOOK THAT MAKES YOU DREAM OF FAR OFF PLACES

Alice In Wonderland - Lewis Carroll (but who doesn't love the Disney version?)
Alice in Wonderland is literally one of my favourite tales OF ALL TIME - who doesn't love to embrace a little bit of crazy??? I assume most of you have watched the Disney film (or the Tim Buton version) instead of read the books - but don't feel bad! The films are just as good!
I don't necessarily want  to visit Wonderland because I'm scared the whole place would just eat me alive. But it is still one of my favourite places to read about!
I mean have you met me? YES TO THIS BOOK!

11. EARL GREY - NAME YOUR FAVOURITE CLASSIC

The Wizard Of Oz - L. Frank Baum
I love this story and everything that comes with it!
*Hugs book*

I hoped you enjoyed this lovely little coffee-themed rant!

Grace
