LESS IS MORE

One thing you may or may know is that I'm a fan of Pinterest. And by a fan I mean I've literally pinned over 20,000 pins and have NO SHAME. Pinterest is the ultimate hub for ideas and inspiration and one thing that has been trending on Pinterest for eternity is a Scandinavian Christmas. Who doesn't what that whimsical, clean cut Scandi Christmas?
So keeping that wonderful trend in mind, here's how to have the ULTIMATE Scandi Christams.

LESS IS MORE

A Scandinavian Christmas is all about that sweet simplicity. So when thinking about decorating your home or the Christmas table, have that phrase on repeat in your mind - less is more.
It's all about stripping everything down to a few key, natural pieces all on a clean white background. Minimalistic is the key.

NATURAL TEXTURES

Because most Scandinavian looks are pretty and white, natural textures become a huge part of the festive decor. It would be incredibly rare for you to find a Scandi living room without woods and evergreens coupled with soft pillows and furry throws.
Even the tables are decorated with wooden candelabras and a lot of greenery. textures are the biggest key to unleashing a classic Scandinavian look.

MAKE IT

The Nordic looks always seem beautifully hand-crafted and in-turn seem so much more meaningful. You can buy some home-made looking pieces from a shop, but homemade DIYs always looks more...well...homemade.

ADD A PUNCH OF BLACK

Black is an incredibly strong colour, and the boldness of it will add to the punchiness of the look. It's intense and moody and adds a punch of stark colour.
Even at this festive time of year, stick to the monochrome colour scheme.

FIND THE COSINESS

This look is all about being basic and not fussy.
Add candlelight, fluffy textures and layer all of your favourite throws. Add some warm, Nordic patterns and a touch of class to your stripped-back decorations.

You likin' the look?

Lots of love,
Grace
